     Thank you for your prompt response to my e-mail and for the pictures of Cody. As you indicated, the resemblance is startling. I remember meeting Cody when we were in the process of acquiring Boots, but since she was only a puppy the last time I saw him it was not possible to see the strength of the similarity. I do remember how friendly and sweet he was and that is a characteristic they shared.

     Boots is also (I may be exposing my bias here) extraordinarily intelligent. She has 80 plus toys and knows the names of all of them. At a recent dinner party, a skeptical neighbor challenged our claim and subjected her to a test. We gave him a list of all her toys and allowed him to choose the ones he wanted her to find. He choose at least a third of the list and she failed only once to find the toy he requested. That was because I had written the name of the toy incorrectly on the list. So it was my fault, not her’s.

     She has a tendency to be extremely protective of Joan and me and she is cautious with strangers. Never the less she is wonderful and the light of our lives.

     Except for a few minor problems, Boots is very healthy, has a great appetite and exceptional energy for her age.

     I apologize if my long and doting description has bored you, but we wanted you to know what an exceptional animal Cody sired and how high our expectations will be when the time comes.
